Since you have another dog, I bet he will catch on quickly if you are consistent. Also, you will want to watch him like a hawk when he is out of the crate so you can correct him immediately for going in the house. You don't have to rub his nose in it, but a firm "NO!" and taking him right outside or to the pee pad is good enough.
