While it very well might not be that, it is something I would want ruled out immediately if I had a pup with sudden neck discomfort.
Georgie had AAI and had similar symptoms. Initially it just seem like pain and a pulled muscle but then he starting losing his ability to balance and couldn't walk. I would recommend a specialist for the x-rays. While specialists are more expensive you will save money in the long run with a quicker diagnosis. Please keep us posted we are here to help.
