About the nipping...I was told to immediately take your hands away when he bites. I started doing that. Give him a toy that's ok to bite. Also, when he bites, make a loud sound, like you would cry out "ouch" or "ow" or "no," just enough to startle the puppy. That is how they learn from their mother and litter mates. They will cry out when the nip is too hard.

And yes, I agree with the advice about finding a puppy shampoo - as well as a conditioner.
