The vet told us that Cruz needed to be kept calm and CANNOT get excited, but cruz is always very hyper and gets excited easily and I am not sure how I am going to keep him calm for two months. Has anyone had this problem and had to keep their dog calm? I am very afraid he is going to get excited and die and I will be devestated. Any advice would be appreciated.
I had to go through the same thing. Even something as short as about a 10 foot span, for example from the living room to the kitchen, caused my Doxie to gag heavily. I ended up keeping him confined to a crate or confined to the bedroom and carried him outside when he needed out, and carried him back. This lasted 8 weeks. Absolutely no running or brisk walking whatsoever. It may seem like a lifetime, but you will get through it. I only had one scare that caused me to rush him to the ER, however, I was overly paranoid during his aftercare.
