According to my vet - spaying and neutering should never affect a dog's weight - at any age.

He said that some males settle down and aren't as active or restless as before and this may cause them to gain some weight - but the neutering, itself, isn't responsible. The change in behavior is...

And the answer to that problem - he said - is diet and exercise!!!!!

A lot of dogs gain weight as they get older. So - I suppose diet and exercise are things we always need to consider to keep our little pets happy and healthy.
