Mine love to be wherever I'm going, right there. I grew to feel bad that they'd wake from a nap to follow me into the other room, only to have to follow me back in 10 seconds. So, I taught them the phrase "you can stay"...and somehow, they know that when I say that it means "I'm coming right back, you really don't have to get up". I don't really know how they learned the nuance of what "you can stay" meant, but they know! So smart.
Yorkies are velcro dogs, they want to be with their people at all times. I love it.
