When I first bring home a Yorkie I place it in a regular baby playpen whose bottom is wrapped in a vinyl or platic cloth. I put the bed, food and water on one end of the playpen and a pee pad on the other end. That way the puppy can go to the bathroom when it needs to until it is old enough to hold it through the night. I put my playpen in the room with us so the puppy can socialize...they hate to be alone. When they are older you can take them outside to do their business and either confine them with a pee pad or crate them at night. Mine hate crates for some reason.
