One of mine was eyeing the space between two of those reeds, and figured she could jump through the reeds and land on the table! She launched herself, got her head through the space between two of these "reeds" ...but then promptly slid down to the narrow part of the chair, essentially HANGING HERSELF ON THE BACK OF THE CHAIR, WITH HER HEAD THRU THE BACK OF THE CHAIR, AND HER BODY DANGLING ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BACK OF THE CHAIR!!!...If I had not been RIGHT THERE, and had been in another room, he would have hung herself, either broken her neck between the reeds or strangled herself between the reeds.....all this happened in less than 15 seconds, right before my eyes and as I was lunging up off the couch to get to her....so NOW, I have king size pillow cases over the backs of my dinette chairs to keep this from happening again.....forget "House Beautiful" decor!!! My entire home is designed around Yorkie proofing!!! baby gates blocking every entrance and exit, plus additional "cross fencing" in every room...pillow cases over the chair backs.....etc,etc,etc.. but they are worth it!
Yet another reason I'm glad I don't let them have the run of the house when I'm not home, who would have thought? Goodness me, this must have been very scary..glad it turned out ok.
