Have her checked. She either has an infection, some other bladder problem, or has been trained by going out too often. I think that they are supposed to be able to hold it about an hour for every pound they weigh. The fact that she sleeps thru the night makes me think it is behavioral though. I can't remember if I slept thru when I had my own, human UTI...Anybody else remember?

You can limit her water. Maggie usually drinks after exercise and at night, not much during the day. Just offer it to her every few hours. I'd treat it like a child that is a stubborn potty trainer. Friend is going thru it now. Kid knows she has to go, and CHOOSES to go in her pullup.

Try taking her every 2 hours (or 15 mins after food, after nap, after exercise, after water). Use a key word...we say 'potty outside?" and she will come to the door if she has to go. You should bring out her favorite treat and as soon as she squats say "good potty" and as soon as she is done say it again and give her the treat. That is how we did it for the poop. Maggie learned the pee easy. As soon as we treated the poop outside it was like a lightbulb! Keep the treats near the door to grab as you go out with her. Make sure you are excited and happy!

I'm no trainer. Maggie still only comes when she wants to, though she knows the word. Same with stay. She will stay, but seeing the man and dog across the street are very tough to make her do it. Potty we did great with. Yay!
