It really isn't Petsmart or Petco that's bad, it's the individual groomer. Some just don't listen or write down what you're wishes are. I've tried this boutique near my home. They're a small business, so small I've actually spoken to the owners when there was a problem. I've tried 3 different groomers at this place. None can get it right. In fact, from the latest groom (my third and final attempt) Kaji is now sporting a mullet. It is beyond horrible just how absolutely funky my poor baby boy looks. I've even gelled his hair up into a Mohawk just so I don't have to look at his ugly mullet. It makes me so mad I laugh. It's just so awful.

Op, bad groomings happen. Now you know to be very specific and if possible ask the groomer to write things down. Take a sample picture if you must. I definitely think you were overcharged.
