Why did she recommend the layering? If it is because he gets hot and you don't want to shave him down then I agree with her that layering is a good alternative. Lola is mixed with Pom, she looks more yorkieish but with a beautiful heavy coat and a really big full tail. But she has the type of hair that lets the layers blend in and you don't notice it. I on the other hand have thin hair and I think layers would be very noticeable. I also shave her underneath which you can not see. So depending on what type of hair your dog has and if he needs to be cooler should be the things you consider before making a radical change |
