I don't use softener in the wash bc it messes up the washer but I may have to try that again. I'm just really disappointed with supposedly 'new' technology. As soon as I can afford it, I'll be getting a new topload washer.
My old washer and dryer set belonged to my mother before she passed away. I think she got them before I was even born and they always did a great job. Then a few years ago I bought a new house and just HAD to have a snazzy new front load washer/dryer set. Big mistake. The washer lasted 3 years and repairing it would have cost more than buying a new one. So I went out and bought the top-rated top load washer....it does ok but I'd sure like to have that ancient one of my mom's back again.

I read through the manual on the new washer and it didn't show where the water levels were adjustable but I did see where I could add an extra rinse cycle. Maybe that will help? I'll try it on the next load I wash this weekend and see what happens.

I've never used a liquid softener. Does it work better than dryer sheets on pet hair?
