Rowdy stood up and shook just a little bit on the ride home (only about 3 miles) but then he just settled right in at our house. He did not cry or shake or anything at home. He just was pretty quiet and looked around the room, explored and played a little. That first night we put him in his crate with a blanket that the breeder gave us that had been in the puppy pen. He cried for maybe 2 minutes - just whimpered - and then he went to sleep and slept for 5 hours. He yelped when he needed to go out and I took him outside, he did his business and then went back in the crate for 2 more hours, till I got up. He did exceptionally well I think.

I did have trouble getting him to eat. He was only 7 weeks old (yes, I know - too young - I didn't know any better). I had to soften his dry food with warm water and give him cottage cheese. I also put kayro syrup on his food to get him to eat. I gave him nutro wet food and toddler (human) chicken sticks. I also gave him nutracal 3 times per day.

After a few days, he started crying more when I put him in the crate at night - I think he just wanted to be with us - but I wanted him in the crate till I was sure he wouldn't pee the bed. He also started crying more when he would get up in the middle of the night when I would put him back to bed. I had to be strong.

My husband is retired and home most of the day, but when we had to be gone for a few hours, we put him in an x-pen with a soft comfy bed and some papers and he did fine. We also confined him to our den for the first few weeks, because it has concrete floors and he never cried when we would go into the other part of the house and shut the den door. He didn't have and doesn't have separation anxiety - we are very grateful.

I think he was/is a relatively "easy" yorkie. Good luck with your new baby, when the time comes!
