The doctor at the animal hospital said that he probably did swallow something large enough to irritate his throat and esophagus but small enough to where they couldn't see it on the X-ray, so that's the reason for all of the swallowing. He seems to be fine this morning (just a little gassy from all the air in his tummy). I gave him some ice chips last night and that seemed to help a lot. He wasn't doing the swallowing when he was calm and resting so I had to lock the cats out of the room and keep everything really quiet for him last night. It's funny how animals can sense things, I think the cats knew he wasn't feeling well so they were really calm around him too. (usually they chase each other around). He seems fine this morning so I don't think I'll have to take him in again, I have him with my mom so she can keep an eye on him and I'm going home early to check on him and get some sleep.
