I use an easy walk harness to train my yorkies. It is a harness but the leash clips at the front. The front goes across their chest, not on their neck. It decreases the sled dog effect of a regular harness. We don't use the jerk correction methods for any dog but I would never recommend it for a toy breed like a yorkie. Yorkie really respond to positive reinforcement so well. Mine have a very nice heel and they've never been jerked.
