I don't think you said on this thread, how old the puppy is, or what type of place do you live in, if you are downtown in highrise it's different than in the suburbs in house with a yard. I live in the suburbs in a home, so what I don't might not be the same for you. I go to the gym in the morning and did when Lola is a puppy. We get up, I have some coffee and get dressed and since her food is down if she is hungry she eats and drinks while I am getting ready. Now that she is a year and well housebroken she does not seem in hurry to go out to potty, so the last thing I do before I go to the gym, is harness her up and take her out in the yard on a leash to go potty, I spend a little more time on days I go to the gym waling her around hoping she will poop as well as pee, normally she does. When I get home I let her out again, and then I take a shower, some days I work from home and some days I go on appointments. But IMHO having a puppy since you work and work out so close to home should not have to make you turn your life upside down. on thing you should plan for if you are going to train her to go outside is to allow for plenty of time, because often it is maddening if they just keep sniffing and sniffing and not going, so you might have to get up earlier or cut your workout time down if you need to be a work at a set time. Lola was 4 months when I got her and I have always free fed my dogs so I never get worked up or worried about feeding schedules. I also will tell you, that if you are used to getting a good workout at the gym walking your puppy and even your adult dog will not replace that. I still walk Lola, sometimes twice a day, around lunch time and then in the evening, she walks fast so we get some exercise but we always see to run into someone wanting to chat, or Lola wanting to sniff. I am trying to break her of sniffing and marking, so we often walk in the middle of the street which is a distance from the grass, and again depending on your neighborhood that is not always possible. good luck, welcome to yt and can't wait to see pictures.
