It is very easy to spend other peoples' money. Many people here have done it ( me included). Not everybody will do things the way YT likes to see them done. And not all rescues would have vetted this dog more than the OP did, And the ones that would have probably don't take in a ton of dogs because it costs $$$. They aren't all savable.

I see so many posts about turning dogs over to rescues here. That's all good except these places are already way too full and donors don't have an endless money supply usually. Of course the local shelters should be made aware of stray animals ( and usually take them in), but life isn't always that simpe though.
Great post. I've had that exact experience 15+ times w/ rescues. With all the dogs I've found (dogs w/ no owners), I've only had a rescue assist me once...and that was only if I could foster the dog myself, which I luckily was able to.

i got those things to feed her through out the time. i in now way was ready to have a dog walk into my life. give me a break, I go to school and gig with a mariachi group on the weekend for cash.

all in all, she's gone and i did what i could. thank you, everyone, for your kind words.
I do believe you did what you could, and I'm grateful you found her. Seeing a stray dog and taking it in is a good thing to do...and no one can take that away from you.

Don't let it get to you if/when people use hindsight to assess the situation and what you did...I feel like sometimes people do that to deal w/ the sadness of the little kiddo having passed on. Sort of like "if only" type thinking...which is hard to avoid sometimes.
