It's not that people are against breeding, but with Yorkies as with any toy breed there are a lot of factors that come into play that you need to educate yourself on.
There is a section on the forums where you can ask questions of breeders that may be able to help.
Many folks on here got their first Yorkie from what they later found to be an unethical or back yard breeder and have since taken it upon themselves to become more educated.
My personal mentality is, leave it to the experts. We like to know that people are breeding their dogs and raising them in a caring and healthy breeding facility. There are too many dogs cross bred with other breeds for the cute effect without consideration for the genetics and health issues you may incur.
Yes you will get bashed and beaten by the steadfast and aggressive folks on here.
We are protective of the breed and like to hope that other Yorkie owners are as in love and care for their dogs as we do our own.
So when you say you wanna cross breed a Yorkie with a Biewer, you're gonna get some stones chucked at ya.
Do your research before breeding your yorkie as I said have a gander under the breeder section.
One thing I do know is you can't register cross breeds basically because they are a mutt, whether you dress it up with hybrid, designer dog or give it a cute name like chorkie morkie or horkie. |
