It wouldn't hurt to even get a second opionion. I have a 4yr. schnauzer that has a fatty tumor on her chest. My vet said to leave it alone for now because it is not cancer and it would leave like a pocket there to remove it. I took her last Thurs. to the vet I got her from (raises and shows schnauzers) and he said she needed to lose some weight but as soon as we get her weight down he is going to take it out. He said it will leave no pocket when he does it. Check around and like I said it never hurts to talk to someone else, just to make sure what you are dealing with.
