By definition, a service dog must perform a specific service that is important to the handler. Certainly if your dog will awaken you when you start to sleep walk that would be valuble service that could be a danger for you. You would just need to train your dog to be very consistent in this service. It would not hurt to have your doctor give you a letter documenting that you have this problem so you could carry it with you if needed. There are not many service dogs trainers in your area, but you could call around and see who could help you. There is a place in Indianapolis call I CAN, you might try them.
