1) Their memberships, and involvement in the local and or National Dog Club
2) Their training of their dog(s) in at least one performance sport
3) Their volunteer activities that may be different to what they do at the club-that are dog related
4) Their ability to articulate - demonstrate - or explain why this particular breeding was a good fit.
5) Their understanding of test results and that those results are publicly posted on the appropriate health website.
6) What degree of interaction they wish with their breeder - frequency, type, etc.
7) As temperament is very important to me; I want to know what temperament test was done when and by whom, and may I review the written report?

I encourage everyone who wants to select a good breeder, to take some time to think about what "they" want in addition to what-ever information on reputable breeder(s) they have read/looked up on the web.

And yes good breeders will be asking a whole lot of questions to the prospective buyer, but I think it is about equal in terms of questions back n forth.



In a well rounded email, I can elaborate quite clearly my history of dog ownership, my physical environment, and what I am looking for in a "dog", and in particular in this breed.
