Vet may approve some foods but if they are supporting other things that are NO GOOD, then I can't follow the advice of my vet.
If a vet recommends an RX for any dog, then I would not hesitate to place him/her on it.
But like I said, they recommend what they know and seen works. With that being said, many of them, unless they are holistic vets, do not explore further into food/nutrition.
However, I can't speak for Purina, but both Royal Canin and Science Diet are foods that are not made in China.
But keep in mind, Diamond (an American dog food company) just had a giant recall on their food which was causing harm to pets as well.
So, it's all a point of perspective when it comes to dog food.
Good luck, and let us know what you go with.
