Welcome to YT and you have certainly started off on the right foot, in the right direction! Do your research on both the breed as well as the breeder. You should be looking very carefully for a breeder....find your breeder FIRST, one that is honest, and compassionate, and clearly responsible for her breeding program, one you can TRUST....vital, vital!.... and then you know you will have a wonderful, HEALTHY little girl for many years, and your breeder will be right there with you for the life of the baby!!!! You will learn what defines a "responsible breeder" in your books.... I always like to recommend two books for people that have never been owned by a Yorkie...these books are must haves and cover every aspect of owning a Yorkie that a new owner could possibly need to know! "Yorkies for Dummies" is the first one...."Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide" is the second one! Get your books and start reading, flagging and highlighting all information that you feel you need to research more or have questions about....you can then either research your questions on the internet, you can post your questions on here, or you can save them and ask the breeder you eventually choose.....any or all of the above! This forum is packed with people that are so knowledgeable on so many areas of loving and living with a Yorkie....you can get professional answers from people that have been working, loving, grooming, owning, training, showing and breeding Yorkies for many, many years, and we are always excited to help our new members on any level! We are passionate about our breed, our babies, so occasionally we may get a little over-enthusiastic with our guidance....just know it is given from the heart and meant to keep you on the right path! So, let your research begin!! And welcome!!
