Then he will probably x-ray the body for heart/lungs/other organs & skeletal system(usually whole Yorkie body can be done on one film for bones) & draw some blood, maybe even take some urine & stool samples. He'll not be looking for pain, as one can't see or feel it, but you can take a look to see if anything is going on that could be causing it somewhere in the dog. If he finds a tender spine, he may even forego anything but x-rays in the way of testing. Since a dog can only complain but can't explain, checking him out physically would be the first thing to get clear before you try to look for behavior problems. For instance, not to be a downer but as an example of why it is good to get a vet check early when odd behavior starts, if it turned out he had a tumor on is spine & you had been trying to correct his whining with behavior modification, you would just feel terrible. It could be nothing more than his tummy is hurting from something & doc just tries him on different food. Once he's been vet cleared, then you can work on the behavior things. I sure hope he's going lots better very soon. It can be so scary when your little one is just not right. | Just a general question but are x-rays expensive? Not that I can't afford it - I have that care credit card for instances like this which I was suppose to use for dental stuff but my baby is way more important right now. I was just curious. |
