It is VERY hard not to say something from "gut" about how awful they are being to the dog but since that probably won't change their minds, only something that makes them think or touches their heart will really do much good here on YorkieTalk. Many people come from a culture of no pets ever in their family or dogs being considered just like hamsters, fish or rabbits as pets go & they have no concept that a dog is a thinking creature with feelings & capabilities of love & loyalty. I remember so many people who vouched for Michael Vick kept saying "it's just a dog" about the unthinkable things he did to his pitbulls one at a time. They explained that to them dogs were just like chickens or farmyard animals that humans raise, often with love, treat kindly at times & later slaughter or send off to the slaughterhouse or sell an award-winning steer to a steakhouse business for six-figures. They often don't see a difference. I can't imagine why - but obviously something is missing or they couldn't treat their dogs & cats as they do. And when
that kind of a person buys a Yorkie & posts on here it gets hit by a car but that it "feels okay now" after everybody is begging them to get it to the Emergency Vet, it is so hard not to say something very, very - shall we say -
heartfelt about their obvious negligence & lack of empathy for the dog's potential plight. I do understand.
