Why do people who don't love animals and aren't cat-and-dog-lovers get animals in the first place? If you aren't prepared to make that little living, breathing, thinking, loving creature a member of your family, why not just get a painting for the living room or a knick-knack for the den? That cat has no doubt come to love those three people, love his home & feel comfortable there, rely on those people as its very own family. Probably waits expectantly for them to come home, stroke his fur, toss a ball or cuddle with him. Now it gets stuck in a carrier & carted around like old clothes to cast off wherever one can find a dumping spot?!?! I wonder what the little cat is thinking as he's going through all of this? I wonder how much apprehension, sadness, fear & confusion is holding his little heart hostage? I wonder if he knows he's being tossed like an old shoe? When he finally gets successfully scrapped, if he's still alive, I wonder how long he will miss & worry about where his family has gone?

So why do they get them in the first place?
