It's so funny, a dog sleeping in their humans bed is so natural to me. I grew up thinking it was just.. the norm. All of my close family & friends have their dogs in their bed - and I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd! The Shepherd was in my bed most of the night and the Golden slept with my parents. My aunts Rottie slept with her, as does her Pit Bull now. My grandma's Foxhound and cat are in bed with her every night. My dads dogs are in bed with them... even my mom who is NOT the biggest dog person slept with their dog every night, etc, etc, etc. LoL. I guess we have a very animal loving family, but yeah, as a kid, I thought it was SO weird to see dogs in crates?! It just didn't happen in our house. Now I see how important they can be for some dogs, but I'll never personally be into crating. I realize some dogs can't be trusted, so I guess we've just been lucky.
