Just because dogs aren't as likely to get Salmonella (shorter intesines), doesn't mean that they WON'T get it. It's a lower risk compared to humans, but a risk nonetheless.

That being said, a couple of years ago when I was trying to decide what food to give Jezebel, I had a list of requirements that I wanted the potential candidates to meet. Some were nutritional, while others were not (like can I find it locally), or does she like to eat it and does it agree with her system.

I also had the requirement that the company could not have anything to do with Diamond, that automatically eliminated their food from my list. Diamond made many of the foods that were contaminated with melamine and then they had the problem with the mold toxin. I didn't care if the food they ship to my area is supplied by their own non-Diamond manufacturing location, if they made any of their food at Diamond, that tells me something.
