Default Dogs as pets

I have really enjoyed this post. I was mainly a cat person most of my life. I have 6 dogs now and 18 cats. The dogs are paired in two's so everyone has a buddy. The dalmatian is with a dalmatian/corgi mix. They are outside dogs, and do not want to stay in the house. They have a room with a dog door that has their rugs/blanket with their food and water. The room has heat and air. This has worked great for them. They are Holly and Pepper.

The corgi/dalmatian sister was being bullied by the other 2, so she was brought in the inside kennel area. I got a jack russell terrior for her friend and they are so sweet together. They are Abby and Sassy.

I got Cesar the yorkie who got along great with the JRT and corgi, but his energy level was much higher. I got Cleo for him and they are great buddies. When I go on errands, church, etc. they are in the kennel area with their beds, toys, etc. When I get up in the mornings - sometimes there will be 15 toys all over their room so they are active at night.

The dogs do not like clothes. Cesar will act like he cannot walk when you put clothes on him. They have shirts and stuff, but only for special occasions. I know they do not like clothes so I don't want to torture them.

I don't take my dogs with me as they are not crazy about going in the car. They are very happy, content to stay home. If I need to go to the store, volunteer at the church, I go. They do not rule my life and they are not insecure as I have let them be dogs. They are very happy, well taken care of and very much loved.

I have re-designed my yard and added a large kennel area to my house for my animals. Everyone should take care of their animals, but should not feel bad if they are treated as pets. Some of my friends think I am crazy for spending so much on the dogs - but that is their opinion.

Well I need to stop rambling on and put these snoring dogs to bed.
