I would ask about post surgery activity. I had always read to keep them still, don't let them walk, etc. Buster's surgeon said that he could walk although not run, that it was better for him to put weight on the leg. Walking around the house for a few minutes at a time really seemed to help his recovery. Be careful if you don't have carpet, it's easy for them to slip on tile or laminate. Meds is another thing to ask about. I was so focused on his incision and trying to keep him comfortable, I didn't know the side effects of one of his meds. Buster was sent home with Medicam and I had no idea it would make him thirsty. He wanted to drink water all of the time and then of course he had to pee all of the time. He couldn't go out by himself to potty and it was driving both of us crazy.
