from what i've read, dogs that are neutered at adulthood do not gain weight as a result of neutering. dogs that are neutered before 6 months can grow to be a little big than expected because testosterone tells the body when to stop growing and without it, growth can continue a little longer than expected hence resulting in a slightly bigger male.
