We have just moved into a apartment complex a few weeks ago. Suzi does bark a lot to, however it is more of a territorial bark then anything else. She seems to know the difference when we come home then strangers passing along our apt. Because she has never barked at us. ast week she did at my son as he was coming home, only because he had a haircut, LOL. it feels safer to me that she has warning barks, our shh tzu hardly ever barks, but when she does it is late at night when Suzi is not awake. using one command word consistently cn teach them not to bark. and then rewarding hem with a small treat when they do not bark can help. Just remember you still want them to bark when it is necessary. So would not teach them not to bark alltogether.
