Default I'm a newbie

Hi everyone. I came upon this site when I started thinking about getting a yorkie. It has been so helpful. Let me begin by telling you a little bit about how I fell (in love) with these angels. A couple of months ago, my husband woke me "to see something outside" after dropping our older girls at the bus stop. Well, it was about 40 degrees(in florida) so I was not too happy. Well as I walked to the car, I saw a small yorkie in the passenger seat. My husband told me that he saw her wandering the streets and picked her up. He said couldn't resist (that face)

I was shocked bc this is kind of out of character for him. We have two big dogs, German shepherds, and he has always has a preference for those type of dogs, certainly not toy dogs. I, on the other hand had been trying to convince him to let me get a smaller dog. Anyway, to wrap it up this dog was precious. She was just so sweet and even the other dogs liked her. I knew she must belong to someone so I took her to our vet to check for a microchip. She did and we were able to contact the owner, an elderly gentleman, who of course was relieved to get her back.
After that incident, we were hooked. I researched the breed to make sure it would be a good fit. My concern honestly was that I had bigger dogs. I didn't want to have a dangerous situation for the little one. But I was reassured that they could get along. My dogs have lived peacefully with cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and currently rats and a hamster so I was hopeful.
I am happy to report that my baby came home this past Thursday. His name is Brandon. Let me tell you I never thought I could love an animal so quicky. I truly do see why people treat them like their children. Dont get me wrong. I love my shepherds. They are smart, loyal and beautiful. However, when my little bundle of fur looks up at me with those brown eyes, my heart melts. We are blessed to have him and I'm so glad to be a part of your forum.
I'm not sure how to send pics so you guys can see him.
P.s. my shepherds ( who are both female) have welcomed Brandon. However, I supervise all their time together.
