As far as airlines involved in flight from Va. to Hi.......you might check Delta as I know they go the entire way. We flew a Doberman female 7 month old puppy on Delta from Florida and at the time United was not shipping lives. The cost 6 yrs ago was over $700 with vet and airfare together to get her to Northwestern USA. I have shipped by air dogs over the years...... and my experience is try not to change airlines.... as the cost goes through the roof as they all have to have their pound of flesh so to speak, each airline will charge full price and I have experienced this as well. I lived in Hawaii in past and my parents lived there 26 years on Maui and their quarantine is terrible on dogs, avoid that at all possible cost.
