I know you must have been terrified. My elderly Heidi managed to get out the front door and down the steps late one night when I had the others out (I thought she was sleeping inside). When I got ready the go to bed about 1 1/2 hr later I couldn't find her anywhere and realized she slipped outside. We live on 5 1/2 acres and we were out with flashlights looking everywhere. I was crying so hard I just about couldn't call her name. My husband finally heard a weak little bark and found her next door where she had fallen in a fence post hole. I thanked God for that because we have coyatoes around here. This was about 1 yr before she went to the bridge and she was 11 days shy of 18 yrs then and in acute renal failure. These little ones can just slip by you. I am so glad you found your baby safe and sound. |
