Chase used to do this when he was a puppy too. He would dig at the wall, then try to use his teeth to scrape it off too. It was when he wanted attention, and we were busy eating dinner or sleeping. I tried spraying them with the bitter spray, but he didn't seem to mind the taste and it didn't help. We would give him a bully stick when we were eating dinner, so he wasn't bored, and that helped. He stopped doing it when we brought his brother home though
