I think heel is hard for a small dog, and in my world it isn't necessary. I opt for loose leash walking using the "with me" command. The dog walks along on a loose leash with me but is not so rigid and attentive. I think this command fits best for my dogs. But, that being said, no I don't think heel is that hard to teach. Come seems to be the most challenging command....especially with a yorkie.
