It happened once with Kiwi where her temperature went down to 97.5, and I knew then that she wasn't going to get better. We had been treating her for congestive heart failure. Please don't think that I mean that Calli is seriously ill but I just think you need to tell your vet about this. It happened to Ashley when she was sick at the age of close to seventeen (it went to 98.5 degrees). My vet told me that it sometimes happens to older dogs. I had a wedding to go to the next day, but I wouldn't leave my baby My husband was home and would have held her the whole time, but I was too scared and needed to take care of Ashley myself. I kept her warm in a blanket and didn't leave her side. You are such a wonderful mom to Callie, and I know you always take such great care of her. I am confident that you will do everything in your power to find out what is causing the hypoglycemia and her drop in temperature. |
She has a vet appointment next week for a recheck of her skin and I definitely plan on bringing it up then sooner if she has another episode. This just completely confuses me because we did over $300.00 in blood work and nothing but he thyroid showed anything other then being perfect and they did more testing on the thyroid and it was fine. Normally we see the the vet who runs and owns the vet office we go to but when she goes back she will be seeing the other women (because its the day the other vet is off) who works there so maybe she can give me another take on it and can think of something our normal vet can't.
