its so nice to see such information here. most "breeders" in South Africa too promote "teacups" but i do think its a little worse here, as the "standard" size is around 4/5lbs for yorkies here. when people see ziggy they say: "he's so cute, if only he were a little smaller he would be a teacup, but you'd only have him a few years"!.... Firstly lemme say, Ziggy is 3lbs, that's considered small here yes, but NOT "teacup" it makes me sad because these so-called real teacups are so accepted here and people are ok with their low life span.

I hope more South African's join this site and read up on the dangers. I try to educate when people ask, but sometimes people just dont care to hear.
