I, too, have had the best luck with Acana. He did great on the grain-frees but is doing fantastic on the Singles line. We did two bags of duck & pear, two bags of lamb & apple, and are now on Chicken & Burbank Potato... which he is LOVING. And honestly, every time I switch off it, I'm never satisfied. He really does best on it.
I REALLY really want to feed Fromm as I love everything about them but unfortunately, their formulas don't seem to work well for him (he can typically switch cold turkey between any food, but Fromm gives him gas and soft poos). And last time we tried it, gave him the itchies. So that sucks for us - I really love them.
I'm pretty sure all their formulas contain chicken of some sort, FYI, except maybe their Game Bird grainfree recipe.
But yeah, the only grain in the Acana Singles is oats.
