I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I'm glad she is home and on the road to recovery. Kacee has never needed her anal glands expressed. She empties them herself. I'd be careful and not let groomers do it. Too many people think they know how to do it and really can't do it properly. It's easy for someone to do more damage than good. Let the vet do it.
