OH, I'm sorry that your mom was so ill and had to have surgery! What a stressful time for everybody - the patient plus those who love her. I hope she is feeling better and not too restricted in her diet. Everyone I ever knew who had GB surgery say they feel so much better after surgery that it is amazing. Hope that is your mom's experience.

Tibbe has to have his anal glands expressed 1 - 2 x yearly but I have never smelled them - only notice scooting sometimes but usually he doesn't show a lot of symptoms - it is the vet who tells me during one of his check-ups that they need expressing. I can usually relate that condition to me not feeling so well during the preceding weeks and not letting him run & play outside as long as usual - calling him inside sooner than usual after potty/play breaks as I don't feel like staying out with him very long.
