I have used a belly band to prevent urinating on the furniture and walls. After a day or two, he might learn not to go just anywhere, and will 'hold it' till he gets to go outside. Mine does not like the 'feel' of a wet belly band, and will wait to go outside after a few days.

I'd start letting him out for potty every hour, high praise and a treat when he goes. Then gradually increase the time between potty breaks. Also limiting his access to one or two rooms (easily cleaned) will help get this under control.

Do not punish accidents, ignore them and clean the area with an enzyme cleaner (may take a few applications depending on the stain). Learn to spot his signals that he needs to 'Go Potty'.
