So happy that Otis is feeling and acting normal. I had a similar experience with my Yorkie, Biscuit, several years ago. He was chewing away on a tiny rawhide bone, when he started gagging. My husband and I scooped him up and raced to the ER. Just as we got to the parking lot, Biscuit barfed up the rawhide along with a gallon of muucus (sp). We had him checked anyway, and the vet said that they see so many cases of dogs, all sizes, choking on rawhide. As the dogs chew it, it gets slimmy and sometimes when they swallow it, it gets stuck. Needless to say, rawhide has never been given to our furbabies again, and they don't miss it. Let us know what the vet saids on your visit.
