I live near the NY/PA border and also wanted to adopt a Yorkie. I checked pet finder over and over and found nothing in my area. I knew there must be yorkies some where that needed homes. It seems that there are Yorkie rescues that pull Yorkies out of shelters as soon as they hear they are there. I guess the shelters must notify them when a Yorkie comes in. Unfortunately, the rescues are quite far from where I live. Didn't think it would be so difficult to rescue a little love bug.I finally ended up buying a puppy. I really want to adopt a needy Yorkie but am facing the same issues again.
