because the silky females are bigger , stronger and the non ethical breeders think that they can whelp without as many complications than the yorkie females. also a silky female can carry up to 6 babies per pregnancy and rare than the smaller yorkie females carry that many, is also known in the breeding circles that the non ethical breeders of splitting the larger litters so they say the yorkie dam had 3 and another female had 3, so they don't raise suspicions, they are very cunning. so sad.. my female silky had 6 puppies this last litter. that is why knowing your breeder and asking questions and visiting is very, very important.
