As far as being dependent, I think it really depends on the pup. My friend has one of each and the female is way more dependent than the male. I can't really tell you about getting a boy dog because both of mine are females. I can tell you that I love dressing them up!! And putting bows in their hair!
It is just too fun! I love both of my girls and wouldn't trade them for anything!
