I would think that your puppy is a little young to have any real tarter buildup or bad teeth.
This is off the subject a little, but I swear that my Yorkie has a little smell that isn't pleasant around his face from time to time. It would be easy for me to think that it's his breath - but it really isn't. It's more around his face -especially the area where his eyes drain. I have found that washing his face well with a damp cloth helps remove this odor.
And - I have noticed several other posts where people feel that this eye drainage or or running - has some sort of odor.
Anyway - my pup gets his face washed and his eyes cleaned often. And this helps keep my puppy smelling good.
