So many answers can apply. Does he have dog, cat or animal that your dog can smell on him ? Does he have a health problem, walk different, smell different ? Is his size, voice tone, appearance quite different from yours ? I am sorry not being able to observe your dogs body language and so on, I would just be guessing. It could be fear, submission or something else. Sometimes the person just greets them to excessively. Have him walk in and ignore her until he sits down. Hope this helps.
