well i have a shih tzu - princess whos almost 9 and a 4 1/2yorkie - lola new to the family just by a week. i honestly have to tell you im surprised how well they are doing. princess has been very gentle with her and not what i expected. so far it has worked out and i think bringing in a baby as opposed to older rescue may make the transition that much easier. good luck i say go for it!!
